My Learning DNA
As I aspire to become a successful and influential teacher, I must be aware of the different learning styles and preferences of many. As you keep reading, I will address my own learning styles which convey how I learn best. Visit Kallas-thenics to view our prompt and the various types of learning styles.
Characteristics that Add Value to my Teaching
Every teacher has different characteristics that appeal to the students and aids them with their learning. I personally believe that my determination will influence my classroom and students by believing that we as a class will achieve all of our work and pass tests. I am a very compassionate person and I believe every teacher should show some compassion and not just ignore students who are experiencing a problem . Showing compassion to students also shows that as a teacher you're trustworthy to keep personal problems between each other. Organization is a crucial characteristic that I happen to use on a daily. I must explain clearly and be well prepared with the material I must teach to the students. I am a very deliberative when it comes to making choices that can change my future or working ethic; being deliberate in my classroom will help organize my lesson plans, for it will help me choose activities for the students.Discipline is another characteristic that can be used not only for consequences but to organize lessons and activities for the school year. I am very open-minded whether its school or something social. Being open-minded will allow me to acknowledge how students work differently and efficiently.
My Multiple Intelligences
My highest intelligence score is Visual-Spatial meaning I prefer seeing pictures or writing on the board to memorize the information. As I am a strong visual/spatial learner I would apply this to my classroom by making a foldable and use color coding to remember important days or files. My second one is Interpersonal which is about social interaction and understanding the people around you and their motives and emotions. In my classroom I would use this by talking problems out with students, parents, and teachers. It also shows I am intrapersonal which means I like to work on my own when I need to. In a classroom I would use this by getting to know my students and also working with myself and having self-regulation.

My Learning Preferences
The elements of sound, structure, and design are very important in a classroom because sounds influence students work ethic meaning they can either concentrate with loud sound or with no sounds. Structure in a classroom is having rules and consequences also routines used daily by the students and myself when working in groups or individually. Design is also important because it organizes the classroom and having a neat and comfortable environment will help students feel welcome and responsible.
My Learning Styles
I am a visual learner meaning I learn and understand clearly when pictures colors and graphs are shown in the classroom. My second learning style is Auditory, which is when an individual learns best when he listens to a lecture or needs someone to read a book or procedure for them to understand. I occasionally prefer lectures but if the teacher or presenter doesn't include some type of visual them I might end up confused or forget information.
The Cone of Learning
The Cone of learning presents the amount of memory we store whether it's reading, watching a demonstration, or getting physically involved. I best learn by watching a demonstration or discussing an idea with various individuals. Knowing I best learn with visual and verbal styles I will apply these in the future by including power points, videos, and class/group discussions in my classroom, so my students learn in multiple ways.
My Gallup Themes
Deliberative- I am a private and cautious person, meaning I don't like denying risks but thoroughly inspecting and identifying what each risk would bring.
Individualization-I focus on all differences between individuals and know their strengths and weaknesses.
Empathy-I am able to understand others perspectives and feel the emotions they feel as well
Discipline- I like to plan projects out in small sections; I like to feel like I'm in control when im working in a team.
Responsibility-I am determined to my work whether it's big or small; I must do the rights thing and follow procedures given to me.
